| Description: | This bundle contains a video recording documenting the process of giving an informed consent. The procedure was by the following steps: 1. Explaining the project in general. 2. Showing the archives ELAR and LAC to the consultants in the internet. 3. Explaining our purpose to document the language by archiving the recorded data and explaining the different possibilities to restrict access wishing also anonymity or not giving permission for visual data (photos and video). 4. Stating the agreement: For the elder women (AMA, OBJ and TAA) the informed consent was taken on video because they don’t know writing and reading and one woman also knows only basic Arabic. In the case of this group we thus documented the process on video whereby having them stated their agreement to the recordings orally by a verbal statement in Arabic (or Zaghawa). The research assistant EOI had translated and explained the consent form in Zaghawa. The filling in of the consent form in English and Arabic and the signing was done for them by the research assistant as a mediator and afterwards countersigned by the depositor Isabel Compes. AMA and OBJ state their consent in English (which was left out in the two other versions) and TAA states the consent for Arabic and English. | |
