Description:The lyre musicians Tal'ane Abusho and Mahane Dohanbaabo are interviewed by Seid Fayiso on their biography and their repertoire. The two women are 1st degree cousins. The interview (part 1) starts off with questions about Tal'ane's family (her father's, mother's and husband's clan, her place of residence and place of birth). Tal'ane learned to play the lyre in her parents' home. She can play several songs on the lyre and has a repertoire of wedding and mourning songs. In part 2 the interviewer seeks confirmation for the personal information obtained in the first part. In addition, he asks Tal'ane about her brothers and sisters. In part 3 Tal'ane speaks about her profession: she is a potter and farmer. The interviewer then moves on to interview Mahane about her family, husband, clan, place of origin and residence. Mahane learned to play in her family home from her father. [Description still to be completed continuing with 004.mts] The photo linked to this session shows Tal'ane (on the left) and Mahane (on the right) watching their video recording.
