Description:Takkaale Buro, who masters a large repertoire of lyre music, performs twelve pieces, among them autobiographical songs, narrative songs, dance songs. The titles of the songs are as follows: File 001: asshamo played at weddings), File 002: woysa ('bamboo flute'), File 003: teese, File 004: iyaado, File 005: narrative song about gen'í macca ('wife of the gen'a-antelope') including a self-introduction of the musician, File 006: two songs, of which the first (up to 1:46 min) is in the zaya ('bamboo trumpet') rhythm, the second in the kaldi baaba-rhythm, File 007: baac'i (~ baac'a), File 008: tuud'í yetts ('buttock dance'), File 009: lawwase, a song played in the evening of mourning days and at days of the alma-ceremony, a commemoration day for a deceased, File 010: sibts'ire, a song that carries a personal name as a title, File 011: narrative song about kaní ('dog'). The great performance of the last song triggered spontaneous applause of the staff in the municipality compound where the recording was made. Yvonne Treis is a linguist and works on Ethiopian languages at CNRS in France.
K'oyaaso is a potter, a person with abundant knowledge about Baskeet traditions and a musician playing the lyre, the woysa-flute and the zaya-trumpet. He is the father of 14 children and husband of three wives.
