Description:In this film, Grandpa Dorji Phub sings a popular song - Nangla Chongse Yoyo in Nyenkha. It describes the step-by-step process of an ox and natural environment (flora and fauna) in and around the beautiful Phobjikha. It mainly describes the evolution and life circle of flora and fauna that changes according to the four natural seasons: summer, winter, spring and autumn. He performs this traditional song with melodic voice and moving life story related to fellow human beings.
Wangchuk is a PhD researcher at the University of Essex. He is PI, from Phonjikha who is a native speaker of Nyenkha.
Yangchen is a student and lives in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. She is a Kurtoekha speaker and helps to work for this project
Ugyen works for the DDC office and employed as RA with Wangchuk Rinzin. He is a native of Tshangla and uses Dzongkha and English as the national language and international language, respectively.
Jamtsho is a Gup (local leader) of Phobji Gewog (council) and native speaker of Nyenkha. He is employed as a language consultant as well as regional host who selects speaker/language consultant, provide basic facilities (family host) and arrange all necessary things. The research team was really grateful to him for providing all necessary requirements for this ELDP project.
Dorji Phub is a Nyenkha speaker and lives at Phobjikha, Wangduephodrang, Bhutan. He is very popular with traditional storytelling and rich with traditional knowledge in the village. He is also fluent in Dzongkha and uses it to communicate with other Dzongkha speakers when he travels to the administrative centres in Bhutan.
