Description:This song was written in the style of Monpa folk songs by a local schoolmistress, Norbu Drema. The lyrics extol the virtues of a school education and exhort parents to send their children to school despite the difficulties, saying that like with farming, the fruits are well worth the effort; that like a perennial mountain river that flows all the way down to the lowest part of the village, education develops the mind completely. It says that not all monks are reincarnations, but some reach high positions by virtue of their hard work and other achievements – education allows achievement to be open to us all.
