Description:The dung beetles kidnap a springbok girl and raise her. Two brothers of the springbok girl decide to go and find their sister. When they find the dung beetles, they are met by their sister’s dung beetle children. The brothers give the children buchu which prevents them from speaking. When the dung beetle mothers return from the veld, they hold a trance dance to cure the children. After the trance dance, while the dung beetles are sleeping, the brothers kill the sister’s husband (by cutting off his nose) and flee. The dung beetles track the brothers, but the brothers are able to kill them all. Recorded, transcribed, glossed and translated. Found in Collins and Namaseb 2011.
