Description:		JW01 (some confusion with French, but hasn’t spoken Guernesiais for some time.) talks about: personal details, situation, where she lived when she was a child, various farms in the Castel; marrying when she was eighteen years old, having children, one dying in an accident; life during the Occupation (O), Germans taking over greenhouses, being with Grandparents and parents; working on farm and picking flowers, the dairy during the O, milk collection; farm animals; mother making butter during the O; eating in the evening with the Germans (JW01 is shown a photo of a woman butter making); curds not being available/not being able to buy them; Guernsey children looking healthier than returning evacuees because of good farm food; town market, and changes, old shops gone, people not having time to speak; market description, stalls gone, lifestyle changes; her children and their jobs, one a boxer; living in the former Ozouets Lodge for 11 years, now divided up into units; buses and problems, not driving, children taking her about, States’ savings leading to reduction in services, to be expected, people claiming money, and doing nothing, guest/foreign workers seem happy to do jobs that Guernsey people don’t want to do; working in nursing homes (Orchard House), and States’ ‘Home Help’ scheme, helping people out where she lives; speaking a little G in a home with a resident, not speaking it much nowadays, but remembering it; interview suspended at 27 mins 30 secs as neighbour enters room.
