This session contains various forms and examples of Duplication: reduplication and triplication. | ||
All the data and examples of this session are in Chintang. But most of the data and example are also translated in English. | ||
The speakers Rikhi Maya and Janak Kumari are very good friends but they speak two different dialects of Chintang. They study and live together. Asha and Surya are close relatives. Bishnukala also helps in organising local contacts in Chintang. | ||
Janak works as one of our regular consultants. She is a college level student. She was born and brought up in Chintang, Shambugaun. Both she and her parents have Chintang as the first native language but their ethnic background is Athpahare. She has never left the area for long time. | ||
Surya is a teacher of a primary School in Chintang. He is a very good singer. Both he and his parents are native Chintang. He has never left the area for more than two months. His wife comes from a Bramin family and has got one daughter. He speaks Nepali to his wife and both Chintang and Nepali to their daughter. | ||
BK was born and raised in Chintang. She works as a speaker but also helps to establish and organize new contacts in Chintang. Her mother is a Bantawa speaker and father is a native speaker of Chintang. They speak Chintang in their home. Her first language is Chintang. | ||
I completed Masters Degree in Linguistics from Tribhuvan University, and currently working as a Research Assistant in the (DOBES) project. I am in charge of Linguistic works and analysis. | ||
Prof. Rai works as a Researcher in Chintang and Puma Documentation Project. He is a linguist and especially interested in Kirati morphology. He is Chamling by ethnicity but his mother tongue is Bantawa. | ||
