Description: | The dasa khokma ritual is a kind of the ritual. It is occasionally performed according to person's interest. It is concerned with avoiding plight (bad condition). It is believed that after worshipping the dasa khokma, all bad conditions are avoided. | |
This worship is called the dasa khokma, an occasional ritual, which is performed to avoid the bad days. It is worshipped occasionally. It depends on the person's interest. Whatever and whenever the worship is performed depends on the householder. It is worship with chanting the Mundum by a knowledgeable elder (BBS). It is worshipped outside the house and made temporary altar for it like in the Rajdeu. In this dasakhokma worship, Lakhman Rai is a priest and the mundum chanted by Bal Bahadur Rai | ||
This is a chant in the ritual language used by Chintang ritual experts. Its characterized by binomials which are different from ordinary language nouns. | ||
He belongs to Sangpang. Sanpang is not the proto-clan of Chintang. Sangpang came to Chintang from Simpani, a village of Khotang, where Sangpang Rai settled originally. In Chintang they came with their mother because mother belonged to the Chintang clan called Dalahang. He works as an knowledgeable elder among Chintang. He performs varieties of worship and chants the mundum. | ||
Ichchha Purna is the RA for the study of ethnography of Chintang | ||
He is lawer by profession. He is not knoledgeable in ritual but performs as a priest in worshipping the god of house. He performs whatever the knowledgeable elder advise him. | ||
