| Description: | This session records a worship named Kholamang, one of the parts of the ancestral worshipping ceremony among Chintang Rai called Nuwagi. | |
| This ritual is a part of the Nuwagi cycle, the first fruits offering in autumn. The ancestral offering performed for the spirit called Kholamang who is worshipped outside the house with chanting in the ritual language of the mundhum by wattong, a village elder. | ||
| While worshipping the kholamang wattong, a village elder, chants the mundhum in Chintang ritual language, and while talking to each other they use both languages namely Chintang and Nepali. | ||
| The main performer is DBR, while PBR and RBR assist as wattong, i.e. other village elders from the same Lineage or neighbourhood. | ||
| He is a Chintang elder from the Khɨkkhang clan. His father was a naŋsuba (priest). He himself was a vice-chairman of the village district (at the time called Panchayat). | ||
| Dr. Gaenszle is the researcher in charge of ethnography | ||
| He is elder son of Dambar Bahadur Rai. He helped with the interpretation of the ritual. | ||
