Description:The speaker was requested to narrate a folk story in Chintang. He narrates a popular folk story regarding the friendship of a cat and mouce. The text tries to present a long debate between cat and mouce.
Lokendra Rai narrates how a clever cat cheats a poor mouce. The whole stroy presents different activites of the cat and mouce.
The whole stroy is in Chintang. However, there are very few lexical items borrowed from Nepali as well.
Mr. Rai works as a speaker in this session. Mr. Paudyal recorded, transcribed and annotated it.
He is a native speaker of Chintang. He works as a primary school teacher in the same village.
I completed Masters Degree in Linguistics from Tribhuvan University, and currently working as a Research Assistant in the (DOBES) project. I am in charge of Linguistic works and analysis.
