Description:The participant was requested by the collector (Netra) to describe about tele Rai. Tele is an ethnic clan of Chintang Rai people. The recording took place during the day time at a home in Chintang. The sound qualitiy of this session is good.
Malsher Rai describes about tele rai. He also belongs to the same ethnic clan and very much about it. He describes his knowledge on the origin of tele rai people.
The whole session is in Chintang. However, there are very few lexical items borrowed from Nepali as well.
Malsher is the speaker of this session and Mr. Paudyal recorded it.
I completed Masters Degree in Linguistics from Tribhuvan University, and currently working as a Research Assistant in the (DOBES) project. I am in charge of Linguistic works and analysis.
He lives and works as a farmer in Chintang. His house is very close to dhormukha. He has never left the area for a long time and both of his parents were native chintang.
