There are different varieties of the things like rice, chicken should be offered to the dead body. It should be performed in the main door and ngapong has to make a special kind of the place there. | |
The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. In this session, the ritual performer has done a ritual related about the funeral processes. The dead soul is given different varieties of the food and also his soul is made away from the family members. | ||
Puma mundhum language is used throughout this session. | ||
GSR is the resident of Diplung VDC, Nigalbas-7. His clan is Limmachit and he is also a shaman and performs rituals of Puma. | ||
He is the research assistant for ethnography in the Puma team. | ||
GSR is a shaman and also a good ritual performer in his settlement area. His clan is Puma Limmachit. | ||
