Description: | This is one of the rituals among Chintang people. This is called Asikabara, a blessing ceremony. In this ritual, child or man or woman are entered the temple of Chhintang Devi and parents and knowledgeable elders worship the goddess for blessing the child, man, woman. This must be done once during life. | |
This is the ritual called asikabara, a blessing ceremony. This is an important ritual among Chintang Rai whether they belong to Chintang clan or not. This ritual is performed once during his/her life. This must be performed in and around the temple of Chintang Devi. | ||
In this ritual, they use both Nepali and Chintang languge. | ||
In this recording, collecter (IR) was informed in that ritual and he recorded the ritual. There are other actors. One is wattong who is Dowa maila, Dal Bahadur Puma. The other one is Birsna Nakchong Rai who is a newly born child. Her father is Ram Prasad Rai and mother is Sumitra Rai | ||
She is newly child and the Chintang Devi was worshiped for her blessing. | ||
He is a Chintang elder from the Puma Rai but he speaks the Chintang language. Now, he cannot speak any language perfectly but he was called as the knowledgeable elder. | ||
He is father of Birsana. He organized this asikabara, a blessing ceremony for her newly born child. It is performed once during anyone's life. | ||
