| The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. | Kalpana carries a bamboo basket here and there. Samjhana gives cucumber to Kalpana and Kalpana eats it. Kalpana and Ranjana talk about flower. Kalpana almost in this recording is seen very active. She has played with her sisters, Ranjana and Samjhana. Similarly, she played with her brother Prithibi and her neighborhood friend yogendra. In the beginning of recording Kalpana has played with her sisters and brother with toy. That toy is supposed to be the dove and ox here. Later, Yogendra has come to play with them. Further, they hear the sound of the birds, talk about the birds, and chase the birds. Moreover, they have teased each other using nickname like Dalle, Kunti etc. In the end of the recording, Kalpana looks sad and ask her mother to provide something to her. | Prithvi Narayan is the elder brother of Kalpana. He is also called Perte and Pecce. He is the only one son in his family. He sometimes goes to school with his elder siblings. He is Kamala's father's younger brother's son. | ||
| Ranjana is the elder sister of Kalpana. She is also called Ranje. She is the second child of her parents. She is a student. She reads in class 1. She caretakes her sister Kalpana in her mother's absence. She is also the daughter of Kamala's father's younger brother. | ||
| Anita Rai is the mother of the child, Kalpana. She is a housewife and a farmer. Sometimes she goes to work in others' farming field on wage. She is Khukkhang (a clan of Chintang) and married to Sangpang Rai | ||
| Samjhana is called 'Samje', 'Samja' and 'Jethi' in her family and in her neighbourhood. She is the eldest sister of Kalpana. She is a student. She is reading in class 3. She helps her parents in the household works also. | ||
