Description: | Sixth session of the fourth monthly recording cycle of LDCh1 (Child 1 in Child Language Development Study). 1.Part: In the beginning of the video, LDCh1 is sitting with his brother, eating some snacks while his brother is reading a book and singing. *The sound does not work for a period of time during this video.* Afterwards LDCh1 washes himself and decides to sit down with a book which he carries around for the rest of the video. At the end of the video, a lady leads a limited conversation with LDCh1. 2.Part: In the beginning of the video, LDCh1 is playing around with some clothes that have been stored away. He and his brother subsequently go to their father and start singing for him. After walking around the house looking for something to do, LDCh1 and his brother decide to climb bushes in their fathers supervision to gain some vegetables which they can eat. After that he gives his mum some company who is prepairing some food for later cooking. Later on his brother brings some food from the house and both Kehm and his brother eat it together.
The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. Both these districts are situated in the eastern hilly part of the country.
LDCh1's elder brother sings Nepali rhymes, LDCh1 also tries to sing. LDCh1 plays with a book.
The conversation is in Chintang language in general.
