CLLDCh4R10S08
Documentation of Chintang and Puma, two Kiranti languages of Eastern Nepal
Coverage:Nepal
Date:2005-01-22
Description:Eighth session of the tenth monthly recording cycle with LDCh4 (child 4 in the Child Language Development study).
LDCh4 and many other children are playing around a fodder tree (called khoksung in Chintang). They tease a girl calling her 'Miss' (female teacher). They say 'namaste' (greeting) to her. They talk about vehicles, stickers and so on. Sometimes, they fight and sometimes they play. Meanwhile a villager from the next village of Chintang passes by and is talking to us (the collecter, GB, and the local consultant, LKR) about our names and places.
The conversation is in Chintang though some utterances are in Nepali spoken by a passenger.
