Description:The child watches 6 (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) cartoon out of 7 cartoons and narrates them to the addresse. The addresse listens and asks if s/he does not understand.
This corpus collects Turkish sign language TID data from children and also their parents. For this project, TID signers were recorded performing different tasks narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus.
The signer sees short vignettes on computer screen one by one. After seeing each one, the screen goes black and the signer is supposed to describe what s/he has seen on the screen. The addressee just listens and asks questions if s/he doesn't understand. The addressee sees the screen.
Emir was born deaf. He has deaf parents and a deaf brother. He has been attending a rehabilitation center for 6 months twice a week. He has no CI. His grandparents (both from mother and father) are hearing. He uses his right hand while signing and writing.
Emir's father was born deaf. He has hearing parents and siblings. He is married to a deaf woman whose parents are also hearing. He has two deaf children, both of whom are boys.
Funda is a hearing person. She does not know Turkish sign language. She just recorded and checked the camera and angle. She tried not to interefere much.
Beyza is a hearing person. She recorded the sessions and conducted the experiments. She mostly used speech.
This part gives information about the presence of other people during the session. The people who will be mentioned in this part do not participate the session actively, but watch it. Emir's cousin is a hearing girl who is almost at the same age with Emir. She was there during the session. She watched it and did not interfere.

During the session, Emir's mother was also there. She is a deaf person. Her parents are hearing people. She has two sons, both of whom are deaf. One is Emir - our participant. The other one is Emre who was about 10 month of age at the time of recording. She is a housewife and does not have much interaction with other members of the Deaf community.

Toward the end of this session, Emir's uncle also came into the room where the recording was being done. He is a hearing person. He is the brother of participant's father.
