This corpus collects Turkish sign language TID data from children and also their parents. For this project, TID signers were recorded performing different tasks narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus. | ||

Su is a deaf child born into deaf parents. She is attending a preschool for the deaf in Istanbul. Her grandparents from mother are hearing and from father are deaf. She has no siblings. She does not have a CI. Her mother reported that she has been using Turkish Sign Language since she was 6 moths of old. She has also been attending a speech thearpy in a rehabilitation center since 2006 (twice a week). | ||
Her mother was born deaf. Her parents are hearing. She has siblings who also use sign language. Her parents also used to use sign language with her. She uses her right hand. She is married to a man who is a native signer. She has one deaf daughter, who is Sude. She is working in a place where there are mainly hearing people, but she has many deaf friends and meet them a lot. | ||
Beyza is a hearing person. She recorded the sessions and conducted the experiments. She mostly used speech. | ||
This part gives information about the presence of other people during the session. The people who will be mentioned in this part do not participate the session actively, but watch it. Muzaffer is a special education teacher who is currently working in a primary school for the deaf in Istabul, Turkey. He has also administrative duties in the same school. He is a hearing person. He watched the session without interfering. | ||
