| The aim of this project is to further document and analyse the Chintang language. Chintang is spoken by some 4000 to 5000 Rai in the Chhintang Village Development Committee (VDC), which is located in the hills of Dhankuta district (Eastern Nepal). The project builds upon results of the Chintang and Puma Documentation Project (CPDP), which ended in 2009. | ||

| Rikhi works as one of our regular consultants. She is a college level student. She was born and brought up in Chintang, Mulgaun. Both her parents are native Chintang. But her ethnicity is not Chintang. She has never left the area for long time. | ||
| Janak works as one of our regular consultants. She is a college level student. She was born and brought up in Chintang, Sambugaun. Both she and her parents have Chintang as the first native language but their ethnic background is Athpahare. She has never left the area for long time. | ||
