Description:At the start of the recording, the singer introduces himself. He is William Garang Gol. He is proud to sing in his language and to maintain his culture. He hopes that this song will reach the Dinkas abroad, so that they would know that William and his group are holding on to their culture. He is encouraging them to teach their children the Dinka language. He says that this type of song (kɛ ̈ɛ ̈p = poems) is usually sung in the cattle camp or during a wedding ceremony. Poems remind us of our traditions as Dinkas. He adds that they put the bells on bulls necks (the precious ones) and walk around the cattle camp where their lovers stay, following their bull. At the start of the song, he praises the old man named Magak Wol. He is a good man, friendly to everybody. He was the younger brother to Kuel Malual. He then praises his own bull, singing that his best bull is brown with white on the head (mayom). The bull has beautiful tassels on its horn. He then sings about his own family history. He accuses his uncle Wol and his uncle´s wife Ajokdit. They attempted to chase away his grandmother from the cattle camp, and name the cattlecamp after himself. The grandmother maintains that the cattle camp belongs to her children. Finally he praises his grandmother for winning the case.
