Description:Kodok describes his beautiful ox, praises his family right away from grand father and mother, his clan and administrative section calls Arwet Chan, named after his grandfather who was the chief of this section, now in Panyok Payiam in the Twic County, Warrap State in Southern Sudan. In these songs Kodok sings about his adolescent hood as peaceful and respectful gentleman who never insults his age mates or the elderly people as well. He also talks of cattle camps, seasonal camps he calls wät aruɛ ̈l which means the autumn cattle camps where Dinka people come back to with their cattle during rainy season to cultivate and keep their cattle in the high land throughout autumn where they start moving again toward north during flood season and after harvest is over, to toc `green grazing land´ and gökknhom `woody country with sandy fertile soil´ of the Ngok Dinka north Abyiei, the area now contested between North and South Sudan”. All cattle camps that Kodok mentions in the songs, each has particular problems pastoralist faced or enjoyed in terms of plenty water and pasture areas, those which are rich with grass for their cattle and enough water. Kodok describes the cattle camps during the rainy season as a magnetic time of his colourful bull, calls marial, especially when the rain rains on it (marial), it (the rain) makes it so clean and brighter. Also on the sad parts in these songs, Kodok sings of the sudden death of his grandfather who got drawn in the seasonal stream when he went for fishing. He terms that death as looc `pulled deep down by the bad spirit´. The songs are characterised of description, expository and extortive as well. Kodok praises grandmother as successful woman as the source of the riches of his (Kodok), the family has acquired throughout generations. This because she (his grandmother) background was from the glorious family. Dinka people think that a rich person always comes from the successful family. The poor people never heritage wealth, but the rich heritage wealth, instead. In this song, Kodok uses a lot of nicknames which can be names of animals, birds, trees, solid things and other universe bodies that have magnificent colour or power resemble in any given bull. This is because Dinka people do not call people by their direct names, which they think it does not show respect. They call them by bull name. A woman is called by the name of a bull which was paid as a dowry. Sometime a man or woman is called by the names of their children, especially the elder ones as, “Mama and baba so and so.”
