Description:Videorecordings of two male early NGT signers engaging in free conversation while dining in an eatery.
Logbook. The meeting of S025 and S026 at 3 May 2011. Location: The recordings are in a pub called Lambik. The pub is located in Groningen. It was a suggestion of S025 to meet at pub Lambik. The barkeeper of the pub told me we were allowed to sit outside on the terrace for the recordings. We weren't allowed to sit inside, because the chef wanted to keep enough space for other visitors. So we took place outside on the terrace. The subjects of the conversation between S025 and S026 is about relationships, love, work, a sabbatical and more. Technical information: The light changed during the recordings, because it started at 6.30 PM and ended at 9 PM in the evening. The duration of the recordings is about 2,5 hours. Observation sign skills: It was cold outside. I, the recorder, noticed the two signers crossed their legs and bowed their shoulders during their conversation. It could be possible they signed in a smaller way than usually. Their arms were closer to the body, because of the cold. The signs of S025 can be compared with his signs in the recordings of 2011-06-01. At the moment of the recordings at 2011-06-01 it was less cold. Some people from the deaf community define S026 as someone who signs quickly. Observation: - S025 and S026 do not seem to be friends. They know each other from school, parties and the deaf community. Note: After finishing the recordings S025 and S026 told me they were aware of the camera till the dinner had been served. Since then they 'forgot' the camera's and it became more usual and relaxed to them to sign accompanied with the camera's and the recorder. In the last part I, the recorder, came into view. S025 And S026 filled in the background -and permissiondocument and got some explanation with it. S025 and S026 did participate to Corpus NGT too. S025 did participate to another Interact meeting too, at 1 June 2011 with S024.
