Description: 从前，天地间，人类世界里，种子是不存在的！那时，上天界的人掌管着一切种子。为了让人间有粮食，有位心善之人悄悄从天界带来了一些种子，偷运到凡间——一颗接一颗，不断偷来，带给人类。天界的众神发现后，便决定恩赐一些种子：小麦、玉米、大米、豆子……他们将这些种子慷慨地赐下。可就在大地上生长的作物中，仍有苋菜未得。于是，人们又派人去天界索要苋菜种子，但天神却始终不肯施舍。天界苋菜正值丰收，有人想了个办法，偷偷将苋菜种藏在发辫里，辫子一缕缕地缠紧。待回到凡间，梳理头发时，种子悄然散落，大地于是有了苋菜，直至今天！然而，有一种作物——燕麦，天界始终拒绝赐予。人们不甘心，认为燕麦虽不丰收，但益于健康，最终一位勇敢之人决定偷带燕麦回来。他将种子藏在腋下，穿越天界与人间的界限，将燕麦撒播在人间。最初，人们只种燕麦，不需移栽、除草，只需播种便可。正因它来路不同，燕麦从未被用于祭神或丧葬礼仪中，被视为“不洁之物”。在五谷供奉中，燕麦并不包含其中。丧葬中，五谷之供，必有大麦、小麦、玉米、大米、豆类。此外，还需蓑草——掘出、洗净、晾晒后，与五谷一并置于火中焚烧。配以萝卜叶与种子，为亡者送行。过去，摩梭人赖以生存的便是萝卜，而衣物则用苎麻。至今，摩梭人传说中的这些种子、作物之事，仍代代相传。

This narrative presents an origin myth for agriculture: seeds, once the exclusive possession of the celestial realm, reached the human world through gifts from heaven—and through a few discreet acts of ingenuity. The seeds obtained through unhallowed means (amaranth hidden in braids, and oats concealed under an armpit) were thereby marked as taboo for use in rituals. The story thus establishes a foundational cultural taxonomy.

Ce mythe d’origine de l’agriculture explique que les semences, jadis propriété exclusive du Ciel, furent obtenues ici-bas par diverses voies: dons concédés d'En Haut, mais aussi larcins discrets. Les graines acquises par des subterfuges peu avouables (l'avoine cachée sous une aisselle, l'amaranthe glissée dans une tresse) demeurent marquées par cette origine et ne peuvent être employées dans les rituels. Ce mythe fonde ainsi une classification culturelle parmi les plantes cultivées.
