Toutes deux parlent de leurs ressources linguistiques et de leurs pratiques plurilingues au quotidien, en France. Dans cet extrait, c'est principalement Tashi Yangzom, la mère, qui explique comment elle a mis à profit son répertoire linguistique (et notamment de sa connaissance du chinois) pour son parcours d'intégration en France, de l'apprentissage du français et de la volonté de maintenir et de transmettre une variété de tibétain commun en exil, et l'abandon de sa variété natale de tibétain.
