Coverage:Indonesia
Date:2018-04-04
Description:One day, an old woman finds a shell. A tree grows out of the shell that provides a family with clothing and food when you call "Tatawinga, come down!" Then, a sultan arrives and tries to cut the tree down. This angers Tatawinga, so he doesn't give any more goods and returns to the sea. A tale from Gorom. Present at the recording (at invitation from the linguist, this is not necessarily a natural story-telling situation): the speaker's husband, her older brother, a female friend, and the linguist (last three out of frame).
