Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Long time ago, there was a widower in a village. He had got one child with his first wife. Later, he got married again. Then, he had got another child with his second wife. One day, many people were dying because of fire in the village where they lived. So, that second wife tried to run to the front part of that village. She carried her step-child on her back and took her child by holding hands. On her way, she met with a man. He was wearing an iron hat. He asked, "Where are you going by carrying the elder one on your back and taking the younger one by holding hands? Why are you running?" She answered, "It's because there are fires burning in our village. So, many people are running away. And the elder child is my stepchild. His mother was dead. So, I am carrying him whether he might feel lonely. And the child who I am holding hands is my child." Then, he said, "Then, cut some branches which have lots of leaves and stab them around your house compound. Don't tell anyone." After hearing that, she went back home to do that. She thought, "Not only our family can survive from this. I must tell everyone about this." Then she shouted to let the villagers know, "Go and stab the branches which have lots of leaves on around your house compounds!" The other villagers also did as she told. Then, they all survived from the fire. The man whom she met while she was running came to her and said, "Why did you tell everyone? I told you not to tell." Then, she said, "Only us couldn't survive! That's why I told them." The man said, "You are the woman who has the greatest love and whom someone could lean on." And he praised her.
