Description:Translation (Htoi Awng) I am going to tell the story in short to be able to remember easily for the children. I have prepared about ten stories. I want to tell the stories as long as I have time. But I would like to give some time for the others too. The story which I am going to tell is about "The granny and the grandchild changed the life of the thief by praying." Long time ago, there were a poor granny and a grandchild in a village. There were many thieves in that village. The people could not breed pigs and chickens because the thieves were stealing all the time. The granny and her grandchild were very poor and they only had a coop at the downstairs of their house. One day, a thief came to their house and waited to steal the chicken when they were asleep. The thief kept waiting to steal the chicken when the granny and her grandchild were sleeping. The granny called her grandchild, "My grandchild, Come here! There are many thieves in the village. Let's pray for them before we sleep. Thieves are stealing because they are too lazy to do work. That's why they steal from the poor too. We are very poor, and I am worried that the thieves might steal our few chicken. So, we must pray for the thieves that they could find better jobs. Then they don't need to steal anymore." They prayed for the thieves and slept. Then, the thief who was waiting downstairs heard the prayers and thought, "I am doing this job for many years. But there is no one who prays for a thief like me. The granny even prays for the thieves to get a better life." So, he decided, "I will not steal anymore from this night." The thief regretted and went back home without stealing anything from the granny's house. Since that day, that thief changed his life and lived in a new life.
