Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Once upon a time, there was an orphan boy who lived in a slum at the top part of the village. He became an orphan at a very young age. And he didn't know how to earn money. He cried under the banyan tree because he was starving. At that time, a lot of ants were passing him by. He was crying while looking at those ants. The king of ants asked the boy, "Why are you crying there?" He said, "Because I am so hungry. And I don't have parents too." Then, the ant king asked, "What about your house?" He said, "There is nothing to cook and no food in my house too." The king said, "Then, follow these ants." So, he really followed the ants. When they reached far, the ants went into their nests. He was at a standstill since he couldn't get into the ants' nests. Then, the king of the ants said to him, "Close your eyes and follow me!" He quietly followed the king. After some time, he heard, "Open your eyes now." As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a beautiful palace of the ants. There were many foods which the ants cooked, and they looked delicious. The king said to one of his servants, "Treat this boy well. Serve him some foods." The servant took him to the kitchen. In the kitchen, he saw that there were lots of foods such as fried chicken. The boy was very hungry and ate them with relish. The king asked him, "Are you full? Eat until you are full." He said, "I'm full." After eating, he took a rest for a while. At that moment, the king called him, "Come here, please." He went to the place where the king called him. There were lots of gold, jade and other valuable things. The king said, "Take as much as you want." Then, the boy took only a few of them by putting in his old shirt. He didn't know where to use them too. So, he took only some. After that, the king told his servant, "Send this boy back!" When they reached to the gate which was connecting the ants' palace and the human's world, the servant said to him, "Close your eyes." A few minutes later, he heard, "You can open your eyes now." When he looked around, he was behind the banyan tree where he was crying. Then, the boy rebuilt his house by those money. And he had some money to get food for every day. He could live happily. Then, there was another boy who often bullied the orphan boy in that village. He thought, "How did the orphan boy get rich?" He wanted to know about it. So, he went to the boy's house and sneaked a look. He got there while the boy was cooking delicious meal. He asked, "How did you get much money?" The orphan boy told everything to him that he met the ants. He told everything without hiding since he was a pure and honest person. The boy who bullied the orphan boy thought, "I'll also do the same like you." One day, he pretended like he couldn't eat any food and was crying under the tree. Actually, he was the son of a rich man. While he was crying, the ant king asked him, "Why are you crying?" He said the same as the orphan boy, "I don't have parents and I don't have anything to eat." Then, the king said, "Follow me." As he planned ahead, he brought a huge bag and wore a big shirt. The ants said, "Close your eyes!" Then he closed his eyes and followed them. And they treated him tasty food too. The king called him to come there. When he went there, he saw that there were many valuable things and gold. Since he was greedy, he put lots and lots of gold in his bag and shirt. After that, the king ordered his servant to send him back. The ant said, "Close your eyes." A few moments later, the ant said, "Open your eyes now." He quickly opened his eyes even when the ant couldn't finish saying "Open ...". His neck and head couldn't go out yet. Only his lower part was outside the gate. In the end, he was dead by hanging his heavy bag.
