Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Long time ago, there was a man who did farming. Elephants usually came to his field to eat food which he grew. So, he dug a hole on the way to his field and stuck the sharpened spikes there. Then, the elephants came to his farms as usual. One of the elephants got stuck in those spikes. She couldn't walk and move. She slowly moved forward to the owner. When he saw that the elephant was coming toward him, he was scared and closed all of his house's doors. He didn't come out and just stayed inside the house. The elephant just wanted him to take the spikes out. So, she put her legs on the bamboo floor. But, the owner of the field was scared and didn't go out. The elephant didn't move a bit too. And she just stayed there. Then, the owner of the field thought, "May be, this elephant wants me to take the spike out from her leg." And he removed the spike. He did that because he thought the elephant would go away if he removed the spike. But the elephant just sat there since its wound was not fully healed yet. She stayed for one or two days more. After some days, she had fully recovered. She was so thankful to the man. So, she said, "Sit on my back." And she bent her body. Then, the man also sat on the elephant's back and rode on her. The elephant took him to the pond. She put him there. And she went into the pond. She took a mud bath for a long time there. Then, she came out of the mud. When she came out from there, she brought very beautiful tusks and gave them to him. Even an animal knows to pay gratitude. So, people should know to pay gratitude more.
