Description:Translation (Htoi San) A long time ago, an older woman had no children or grandchildren. She stayed in a village by herself, and she became weaker day by day. When she was younger, she saved a lot of money. She lived alone even though she was rich. She was getting older and older as well as weaker. Her house was beside a road, and she called the passers-by. "Child, please come to my house." However, no one entered her. "I have left a lot of food that I cooked. Come and eat this," offered the older woman but no one came in. People just passed her as if they did not care. Moreover, the rich children did not even look back and respond to the granny. She wanted to give her belongings, "Whoever gets into my house, I will give him these gold pots and plates." She invited every passer-by, but no one came into her house. So she thought, "Aw! People might think I am filthy and daggy, so they don't want to come in." She felt this way and was dejected. Her eyes became feeble. One day, an orphan boy was hungry and got into her house. That orphan boy had no mother, no father, and no relatives. He came to that granny. He asked the old woman, "Grandma, are you alone?" She replied, "Yes, I am by myself." The granny asked, "Do you have parents?" The child answered, "Grandma, I don't have any parents. I begged for food in other villages and," "I haven't eaten yet for today," said the boy as he entered the house. The elderly woman said, "Alright, you are my grandson to whom I can give my gold and money." After that, the grandma fed the boy with rice. Moreover, she passed her gold vessels, money bags, gold cups, and gold pots to that orphan boy. The boy also took care of the grandma. That orphan got all the grandma's treasures and got married in the grandma's village. The boy became a rich man. Someone told me about this story.
