Description:Translation (Htoi San) I am telling a story about a proud, wealthy man and a poor child with a pure heart. That wealthy man thought of himself pridefully as he was very rich. He stayed in the same village with the poor humble boy and stayed by himself quietly all the time. The rich man treated the poor boy ironically, "You are so moneyless," and he intentionally said this to mock him. However, the poor boy did not respond to the wealthy man. One day, when the impoverished boy went to the market, the rich man rode a horse and went to the market. The poor boy was so impoverished that he walked while the rich man rode a horse carrying things for sale from his extensive farm. He brought paddy and rice on his horse to sell, whereas the poor boy carried some vegetables on his head and walked to the market. The wealthy man on his horse talked to the poor boy, "Like you are an animal, you're going to be tired as you have to carry things on your head. We go to the market like this carrying our goods on the horse." The poor boy responded, "Hey, you should not be proud like this even though you are rich. People can be rich depending on their fate, but you should not be arrogant like this." However, the rich man was more haughty. The proud man passed by the poor boy's house, intentionally riding his horse and bringing all his goods. He had many horses and drove them noisily in front of the poor boy's house disdainfully, but the impoverished boy did not respond to anything. The penniless boy put on his humbleness, carried his goods on his head and went to the market. The wealthy man intentionally passed in front of the boy's house just to boast. One day, he brought four horses to carry things. On the way to the market, a snake passed through the road. Horses were scared of snakes, so his horses were frightened and jumped at once. There was heavy rain then, and the horses jumped off due to the snake. As a result, all the goods and rice were scattered on the road. The people who saw the scene did not want to help the rich man as he was so haughty, The rain was so heavy and raining continuously. The horses ran away, and all the wealthy man's goods spread everywhere; thus, the rich man faced shame. People said, "Forget about him. He is such a disdainful person." Although no one helped him, the poor boy saw this and felt so sorrowful, so he immediately assisted the rich man. He picked things up quickly together to help the rich man. The wealthy man felt so touched and embarrassed. The wealthy man was shy and said, "Oh my, I am so grateful to you. I will come to you tomorrow. I thank you so much." The poor boy replied. "No need, my friend. That is our duty to help when a person gets into trouble. It is a responsibility of human beings." As the rich man promised, he went to the poor boy's house, riding his horse and bringing paddy, rice from his farm, and other valuable things the next day. The wealthy man was so thankful and passed many gifts to the poor boy. He said, "I looked down on you before. I regret that. You are such a pure-hearted person, and it does not depend on how rich or poor you are." "I was proud in front of you. Today, please forgive me for oppressing you." The rich man returned a favor as he gave his goods to the poor boy. The poor boy said, "There is no need. No need to give." Then he continued, "However, you gave me as a token of love today; I hope you will change your mindset in the future." "You could also treat the people, who are poor or rich, the same. I believe you repent as you return your favor to me; please don't discriminate between the poor and rich." "Please live your life continuously like this," said the poor boy. From that day onwards, the rich man repented and felt shameful in his heart; he never treated people oppressed. As he got remorse, he looked up the poor boy's behavior and changed his mindset. He would never be arrogant to people and lived with humility his whole life.
