Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I am going to tell you is about a mean and bad-mannered woman. A long time ago, there was a mother and a fatherless child. There were only two of them in their family. The mother had bad eyesight. When she had a daughter-in-law, the daughter-in-law didn't take care of her well. She didn't look after her mother-in-law. She even cooked leech for her. The old mother-in-law had no idea about leech, so she tried to bite it. But it kept getting longer and longer. As hard as she bit it, it was growing longer. She had difficulties biting the leech. Her old friends in the village loved her so much. Then they visited her. They asked her, "What are you eating?" She said, "I am having a meal. Come in. Come!" They asked her, "What's the dish?" She said, "I don't know. Take a look. It becomes longer and longer when I bite it. I have no idea what kind of dish it is." When her friends looked at her dish, it turned out it was leech. It was a kind of leech that had mouths on both sides. The daughter-in-law didn't even cut it and cooked it for her. Her friends told her, "It is leech curry! That is a kind of leech that becomes longer when you pull it." The mother-in-law was in shock at hearing it. She was shocked and said, "Oh, my daughter-in-law cooks leech for me! I don't even know what kind of insect that is!" Her friends explained, "That is a kind of insect that grows longer when you pull it. Its body can grow as long as a stream. Your daughter-in-law treats you to that leech." The old mother-in-law was totally shocked. Then she called her daughter-in-law, "My daughter-in-law, come here! Come here, please." However, her daughter-in-law didn't show up. Then she kept calling her. In the end, the daughter-in-law came to her. The mother-in-law said, "You fed me the leech!" Then she died right there. Soon, the corpse was fully stuck to the ground. The villagers tried to pick up the corpse to put her into the coffin, but the corpse didn't even move an inch. No one could lift the corpse up. Then the villagers told the daughter-in-law, "Lift her up." As soon as she picked up the corpse, the dead mother-in-law stuck to her like glue. They couldn't be separated, no matter how hard the villagers tried to separate them. Then they had to put both of them into the coffin. The daughter-in-law was buried alive. Both of them were buried together. She mistreated her mother-in-law. She fed her mother-in-law the leech. So the dead mother-in-law also stuck to her like a leech. They couldn't be separated. She asked for help, but their bodies weren't separated. They were stuck strongly. In the end, the villagers gave up and had to bury both of them.
