Description:Translation (Seng Pan) The story is about a deer and a cicada. A long time ago, there lived many people in a village. Some villagers were farmers, and some fed the elephants. An elephant walked around in a gazing ground. A cicada flew to the elephant and rested on its back. At that time, a deer was standing beside the elephant. The place was a bit lower than where the elephant was. Then, the cicada peed against the deer. The deer was shocked and ran away. On the way, it hit a marrow from the other's field. And the marrow rolled down. It knocked a sesame tree. The tree was shaken. At that moment, there was an elephant near a lake. Since the sesame tree was shaken, a seed flew into an elephant's eye. The elephant was in pain and cried loudly. As the elephant's owner heard the cry, he came near his elephant and asked, "Why is my elephant crying aloud? What makes you feel sad? Tell me!" Then the elephant answered, "The sesame tree makes me cry. It hurts me." So, the elephant's owner asked the sesame tree, "Why did you hurt my elephant?" "No, I didn't. I am just standing straight alone. I didn't hurt anyone. A marrow hit me just now, and even some of the seeds were fallen," the sesame tree answered. After that, the man went to the marrow and asked the same question. The marrow answered, "No, I'm not. Of course, I don't want to hurt anybody. Since a deer kicked me, I was detached from my root. It is dead now. And I also rolled down." Then the deer said, "When I was just standing alone and having my food, a cicada peed against my eyes. That's why I was shocked and ran away. At that time, I hit the marrow." Finally, the elephant's owner asked the cicada, "Why did you do that? Now my elephant is crying badly. It's your fault. Since all these things started because of your fault, kicking the marrow is your responsibility. Falling the sesame seeds is also your mistake. Moreover, making my elephant feel hurt is your fault too. Therefore, all your entrails should be taken out." And the elephant's owner removed all the entrails of cicada. Before, the cicadas were the same as humans. But now, there are no entrails in the cicada's body anymore. Transcription (Lu Awng) Ya ngai tsun na gaw chyahkyi hte hkra a lam re.
