Description:Translation (by Rita Seng Mai) This story is about a naturopathic physician and Sanam Num (It's a kind of Nat, evil spirit). Many years ago, there was a naturopathic physician who usually went to find medicinal herbs in the forest. As he was a physician, he needed medicinal plants to cure the patients. So he always went to find medicinal herbs in the forest or valley. He usually brought his meals when he went to the forest. Then one day, there was one big tree falling on the ground on his way. When he saw a tree falling on the ground, he planned to go over it. But there was Sanam Num which had already deluded him. Actually Sanam Num was ugly, hideous and horrible. But when he first saw Sanam Num, she was really beautiful as she had already deceived him. She created herself with her sorcery like she had got long hair and worn nice clothes. She had beautified herself with fragrance as well. Then she was lying on the ground by leaning a long log of that falling tree and trying to seduce him. Then, he thought, "Ummm.., how could this girl be in this deep forest? Is she really human? Why did she lie down on the ground in this forest? Who might she be?" He was scared but he still needed to go past. Then he was looking at Sanam Num from very far away. But she already saw him. He thought of relief, "It will definitely be human like me. She also came into the forest to find medicinal herbs like me." So he plucked up his courage and went near there. When he went near to her, she was really beautiful just the way he saw her from far away. She was smiling at him when he came near. She was smiling at him like they two knew each other. When she smiled, he also smiled at her. Then, Sanam Num started laughing by looking at him. So he also laughed while looking at her. He saw that her teeth were so small and long. At first, he thought she might be human. Strangely, he felt like she didn't look like human. But he blindly believed that she definitely might be a human. So he was trying to greet her. But that Sanam Num didn't move a bit and clung to that log. She kept laughing. When she laughed, he also laughed. They kept laughing and laughing. When he suddenly peeked at her while they were laughing, he saw that she had got very small teeth even though she had got a mouth. The skin of her face and her teeth were very different from human. He immediately closed his eyes as soon as he saw it and just tried to laugh a lot. He was thinking to himself, "I get stuck in this situation in this deep forest. It might not be usual. She saw me first and she laughed first by looking at me. So I have to laugh against her. If not, I might die." He tightly closed his eyes and laughed with all his effort. Then, she laughed loudly too. He was already hypnotized by Sanam Num so he wasn't able to laugh as much as he could. But he tried to laugh a lot. Sanam Num was laughing while she was lying down. And a physician was laughing while he was standing up and looking at her. Then she couldn't laugh against him. At last, Sanam Num couldn't win against him and ran away into the forest by shouting. While she was running away, he saw her real physical appearance. Actually, she had got very long breasts, long messy hair, was not wearing any clothes and was not human.
