Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I'm going to tell you is about why cats and dogs were never united. A long time ago, sticky rice was steamed in a house where the cat and the dog lived. The cat was waiting just beside the steamer. It wanted to eat the sticky rice, so it guarded the steamer. Then the dog came into the kitchen and removed wood from the fireplace. Then the cat added the wood to the fireplace. The dog came into the kitchen again and removed the firewood again. The cat was dying to eat the sticky rice. However, the dog kept doing it. Therefore, the sticky rice was not cooked. The cat was furious with the dog. The dog tried to steal the sticky rice from the cat, but the cat said, "I won't share anything with you." However, the dog tried to eat the sticky rice. Then the cat fought it fiercely. Therefore, the cat and the dog were never united. Till today, the cat fights and bites the dog whenever it sees it. The dog also fights the cat. This story is about the cat and the dog, which are never in union today. Transcription (Lu Awng) Ya ngai bai hkai na maumwi gaw nyau hte gwi ya du hkra myit nhkrum ai maumwi lam hpe tsun dan na.
