Description:Translation (by Seng Pan) The story is about a human who transformed into an elephant. Once upon a time, there lived a widow and her family. They grew crops on their shifting cultivation field for living. Her daughter-in-law always went to the field. Since the land had been prepared except for the grass, her daughter-in-law said, "Mama, you don't need to go to the field. I will go and clear the grass." Therefore, she just stayed at home and looked after her grandchild. Although her daughter-in-law always went to field, instead of clearing grass, she only sewed the cloths which she brought from home. So, the neighbors informed the widow, "Your daughter-in-law only stays inside the field house every day. She doesn't work." When she asked her daughter-in-law about it, she answered, "Mama, don't worry about it! I will clear all grass. Don't listen to them!" Because of her words, she didn't go and check the field. On the other hand, the daughter-in-law brought all the cloths from home and sewed all by her hands. After that she arranged them in layers. The day her layers became as thick as she wanted, she called out all the grass from the field and placed them in a big pot-hole near the field. And she went to the forest to transform into elephant. Moreover, she left words to her mother-in-law to come to the field the next day. Because of her message, mother-in-law came to the field and amazed how her daughter-in-law cleared all the grass just in one day. As she looked for the heaps of grass, she found out that all the grass from the field were piled in a pot-hole and pressed with a large flat stone. Since she turned over it, they out to the field. If she didn't remove the flat stone, nowadays we wouldn't need to clear the grass when we grow crops in the field. Besides, a story about human transformed into elephant was emerged.
