Description:Translation (Htoi San) Now, Uncle wants to tell my niece about minstrels in the Manmaw area among the Kachin people. There was a minstrel in Manmaw (also known as Myit Sin Li). People did minstrel performances and mostly in happy times. As I told you just now, we did a minstrel, and we did the work of Jai Wa (a professional narrator of Kachin traditional lore as the highest authority to commence the house-entering ceremony.) Those Jai Wa took care of the history of how the house was becoming as a story. The minstrel man praised the family for being happy living, blessed and prosperous from the day they entered this new house. Minstrelling is used for complimenting the house and giving a speech to be inheritance, blessing, and perfection. We can use two places. When a husband marries a wife or on a wedding day, and we perform a new house-entering ceremony, we do the minstrel dance but not the other things. I want to show how it works. My voice is not good enough to sing, so I don't dance. It sounded, "Tek Tek Tek, e le le le e. Today is about this dowry." "Goi! My voice is not good, so I am stopping the performance here."
