Description:Translation (Seng Pan) A long time ago, there lived two siblings, Jangyi and Janga, in a village. Janyi was the younger sister. And Janga was her elder brother. One day, there was a flood in their village. The two siblings hid inside a big basket and could escape from the flood. When the water dried out after the flood, the two siblings arrived at a place far from their village. At that time, they saw a smoke. They followed clouds of smoke. However, they met with an ogre there. The ogre said, "I will eat two of you when I feel hungry." And he seized them. Janyi and Janga said, "We are so thirsty. Could you give us the water before you eat us?" So, the ogre also went out to fetch the water. At that time, the two siblings escaped from that place. And they arrived at the spirits' place. They met an old man and said, "An ogre is chasing after us and planning to eat us. Please save us!" So, the old man hid the siblings in the kitchen. When the ogre got back, he found out that the two siblings were missing. Therefore, he followed to the spirits' place. "Do you see the two siblings?" the ogre asked. "No, I don't," the old man answered. The ogre and the old man talked downstairs. Janyi and Janga were upstairs in the kitchen. Since the two siblings were so scared, they peed. The ogre saw the urine and licked it. "Oh! This is so tasty. What is it?" the ogre asked. "It's the spirits' water," the old man answered. "Then, give me some to drink," the ogre said. "Open your mouth and stand under the kitchen door," the old man replied. Then, the old man poured the boiling water and threw a flaming sword into the ogre's mouth. Since the ogre couldn't stand the heat, he cried, "It's so hot. What should I do?" "Go to the stream," the old man replied. The ogre died near the stream after he had drunk some water.
