Description:Translation (Mike Tu Awng) The title of the story is called a beautiful prawn as a young girl. Once upon a time, there was a widow and her son. One day the mother and son went to their slash farm. They went to do the slash farm. Long ago, it was still very common to do slash farm. One day, when they were at their slash farm, they went fishing. When they used bamboo sieve to fish, they got prawns and fish. Among prawns, there was a prawn which was very beautiful. They separated it from the others and they kept it instead of cooking it for meal. They kept that beautiful prawn and one day they went to the slash farm again. When they came back from slash farm in the evening, they found out that their meal had been cooked. The meal was ready to be served. Then, it happened the next day too that the meal was already prepared. And, the son wondered as to who came to cook for them. Then, he planned to keep watch the next day. The next day he didn't go to the farm but hid somewhere to keep watch at their house. He kept watch at his house the whole day. In the evening when it was time to cook dinner, the prawn that he kept turned into a beautiful girl and started cooking while he was peeping to the kitchen. When it turned human, she was a very beautiful girl. As she was a very beautiful girl, she cooked meal for the both of them, the mother and the son. When the son saw that beautiful girl, he was amazed and he fell madly in love with that beautiful girl. He fell in love with the girl so much that the next day also he kept watch at her without her notice. But he did not say anything. He did the same thing day after day. Then, one day when the girl was preparing meal, he jumped out from hiding place and told her, "I love you so much and I will marry you." But the girl said, "No, it is not possible." "It is not possible because I am a prawn." But the son replied, "Yes, it's possible. You can be human just like this.", and he took a photo of her. He took a photo of her, and one day when he was at the slash farm, he kept looking at the photo as he was slashing the farm. He kept the photo on a tree branch while he was working. He looked at the photo as he was slashing the farm. But, one day, there was a storm and the photo was blown away by the wind. The photo was blown away and it dropped in a palace. The photo of that prawn turned into a beautiful girl dropped in a palace. When the king saw the photo, he liked the girl in the photo so much. The king said, "I will make her my queen." And, he sent his soldiers to look for her. The soldiers started looking for her as they were told. They carried the photo with them while they were searching for her. They heard about what happened at the widow's house. When they went to the house, they saw that beautiful girl. They saw her and brought her. When the soldiers captured her, they brought her to the palace. Before they took her, she said to the widow's son, "If you want to marry me, on the wedding day if you can wear clothes made of chicken feather, I will marry you." She continued, "Make clothes out of chicken feather." "Then, I will marry you." After saying that to the widow's son, she was brought to the palace. When she got to the palace, the king was planning to marry her. The widow's son was very unhappy as his beloved was taken away to the palace. But, he continued to check on her. He kept inquiring when the wedding day would be. On the wedding day, the king threw a grand wedding celebration. As he was the king, he held a very grand wedding celebration. The widow's son came to the wedding. The beautiful girl started to cry. She didn't like the king so she kept on crying without stopping. She cried all day and night. Even though the girl was crying so badly, the king forced her to marry him, and when he was about to marry her, the widow's son arrived to the palace. When he got there, he was really wearing clothes made of chicken feather. The moment the girl saw that the widow's son arriving at the palace wearing clothes made of chicken feather, she immediately stopped crying and started to smile. She was smiling so much. When the king saw that, he said, "This non-stop crying girl can smile when she sees this man. Because of that I will let her marry him." The king hosted their wedding. This is the end of the story.
