Description:Translation (Htoi Awng) Once upon a time, there were a granny and a grandpa in a small village. They were conjugal. But they didn't have any children. So, they only relied on animals. They let the animals work for them. They used the bullock cart to carry the heavy things and ploughed their farms with the cows and buffaloes. They let the dogs guard their house. They bred pigs and chickens as well. One day, unknown disease was spreading in their village. Many animals from the village died and some got sick. Then, they discussed how to do. They said, "As we are old and don't have any children, we have to rely only on the animals. But now, the disease is spreading and being severe. Most of the animals from the village is dying and sick. We should make an animal enclosure in the forest to keep our animals. Then, we would be able to save our animals from being infected by the disease and the danger of dying." Then, they made an enclosure somewhere far in the forest and kept their animals there. On their way back home, they met a man who wore an iron hat. The man said, " Hello! Where did you come back?" The granny and the grandpa answered, "We are coming back from the forest. There is a disease spreading in our village. Many animals have died after being infected. Since we are old people, we rely only on the animals to make a living. We worry about them. So, we went to the forest to make an enclosure. We keep them there in order to avoid the disease and to be safe." The man with the iron hat said, " Hey! Look at the forest by wearing my hat." Then, they wore it and looked at the enclosure in the forest. They saw that it was really near from them. Although it was a dense forest, they could see their animals clearly. At that time, the man told them, "Tomorrow, I will visit you to help your animals not to get infected by the disease. Cook the delicious curries and prepare some drinks for me. Let's be friend." The granny and the grandpa believed his words and prepared the best dishes the next day. But, the man with the iron hat didn't come. In fact, it was not disease. The demons and evil nat spirits were just jealous of humans, so they intentionally made the animals dead. We notice that if our animals get sick, it's because of the demons.
