Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The title of the story I am going to tell is "A Female Paddy Transplanter's Frog Meat." Once upon a time, a female paddy transplanter went to her field to transplant rice. When she arrived at her field, she decided to fetch some water first. So she went to the ravine to get it. A huge frog lived in the water. She caught the frog. Then she cleaned its stomach and intestines and peeled off its skin. She picked some banana leaves and other herbs. Then she marinated the frog meat with the herbs and wrapped it in the banana leaf. Then she roasted it. While the frog was roasting, she began transplanting rice. She thought, "My frog meat must be well-roasted by now. Today, I will eat very tasty frog meat." The thought of eating the frog meat made her very happy. All her thoughts were on the frog meat, and she transplanted rice half-heartedly. In the afternoon, she became hungry and went back home to eat rice with the roasted frog meat. But she found the frog she had roasted alive on the tree log. She was completely shocked. Transcription (Lu Awng) Ya ngai hkai na maumwi gabaw gaw mam ting num jan a shu shan nga re.
