Description:Translation (Htoi San) A long time ago, a man was living in a torn hut in a village. That man had an ability of prophecy skills. The people from the seer's village lived for fishing. They went fishing by boat in the early morning and came back at night for their careers. One day, that old seer told the fishermen, "Children, it is better not to go fishing for today." "Tonight, it was going to be flooded." "It could cover all our village." The villagers got angry and said, "This old man, early in the morning, what are you talking about? Why are you saying the bad things? We always go fishing in this lake, so we know everything." Then the fishermen cussed him and went fishing. The old man shouted at them, "Children, come back when the sun goes down." At sunset, the men who went fishing came back, so their families welcomed them happily. The old man who had wisdom knew that the water would be higher at night time. He thought of a way to rescue their lives. "Even though I call out from this hill, they don't listen to me. They don't take my words seriously. They won't listen to me." He thought to help and tried to cry out. When he was about to shout, “I won’t shout.” He changed his mind, and he thought of an idea. When he got an idea and said, "Ok, got it." He burnt a torn hut from his village. When the people beside the water saw the fire, "Our village is burning!" Then they came up urgently. As soon as they reached the hill, the water was rising up. All their boats were sunk, but their lives were safe. They talked about the fire, "Our houses were burnt. What should we do?" The old man explained, "No, they are not. Your houses are not burning. I wanted to rescue you, so I did like this." "You don't listen to my words." "You will never pay attention to my words, so I have to do this. I want to save your lives, so I did that." The villagers changed their minds, "Oh grandpa, you saved our lives. Thank you so much." The whole village respected that old man from that onwards. Transcription (Lu Awng) Moi shawng e da kahtawng langai mi kaw she da nta shep shep re kaw she la langai mi nga ai da.
