Description:Translation (Htoi San) Once upon a time, Gaw Gaw and Yaw Yaw were a couple. They were preparing for their table one day. They cooked rice and placed it on the table. At that moment, a bride was passing by from the front side of their house. The old man was making a mat while people were bringing the bride. "E, the bride is passing by. I will go and see her," the old man said, then he went and watched her. The old woman was arranging for their lunch, and she also went out, "I will also see her." While they were looking at the bride, a dog ate all of their food which the old woman placed on the table. After they watched, they went into the house and said, "Let's eat!" But there was nothing left. As there was nothing left, they blamed each other, "Did you eat all?" One said, "You ate, right?" and another said the same. Both of them answered, "I did not eat." "If you don't eat, this fly might eat this all." They both thought the fly ate their food. The old man said, "Let's beat it," He beat the fly. He forcibly hit the fly, hitting the table, so it fell off. "Hey you, smash the fly which rests on my forehead," said the wife. The older man took a giant wooden stick and heavily hit the fly on his wife's forehead. His wife died due to the hit he made. He was very regretful because of his wife's death. He put his wife on the mat, which he was weaving before the incident, then rolled it up. After that, he carried her to bury her. But he dropped his wife's body in the doorway. He dug the ground and buried the mat alone as he let it fall from the rolled carpet. He came back home after burying. When he reached home, he saw his wife's corpse in the doorway. He muttered, "In the world, not only my wife is dead." "But also the other's wife is dead." He got strength from that.
