Description:Translation (Htoi San) This story is about a deer who wanted to be a king. A long time ago, there was a deer, a fox, and a lion. The lion fell very sick in a cave, and a fox paid a visit to him. The fox lived near the cave entrance and talked to the lion, "E lion, are you seriously sick?" The lion replied, "Yes, I am seriously ill." "What should I help you with?" When the fox asked the lion, he answered, "If I eat the brain of a deer, I think I will be getting better." "So catch a deer for me to get better." The fox promised, "Alright. If so, I will catch a deer until I get it." After that, the fox left the place. The fox found the deer running around there. The fox said to the deer, "Hey, the lion, the king of mine, is sick and going to die. Do you want to be a king?" The deer answered, "If I become the king, I will follow you." Then the deer followed the fox. When the deer got near the lion, he was too greedy and jumped onto the deer. He could only tear the deer's ear. Therefore the deer ran away. "Now, I can only eat the ear," the lion complained. The fox said, "There is nothing to worry about. The deer had cut his ear so he couldn't run away very far. I will make sure to bring him back." The fox went again and found the deer from its hiding place. He called and explained to the deer, "My king actually wanted to tell you something; thus, he called you. But you were not near him, so your ear was touched when he tried to hold you." "He really wanted to tell you something. Therefore shall we meet him again." When the fox told him, he believed the fox's lying as he desired to be a king. Then he followed the fox again. When the fox showed the sign of blinking his eyes, the lion mauled him, and the fox hit him. In the end, the deer died. When the deer died, his brain came out, and the fox received and ate it all. At that time, the lion ate the flesh of the deer first. After that, he asked, "Where is the brain of the deer? Where has it been?" The fox responded with a lie, "If the deer had a brain just now, he did not follow me when I called him. He did not have a brain, so he followed me when I asked him." The lion trusted what the fox lied to him, "That's right. If he got a brain, he would not follow you. Due to his brainlessness, he came after you." Both of them could eat a lot of meat that day.
