Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) This is about a pure and innocent girl. Once upon a time, there was a widow and her daughter in a village. The daughter was well-mannered. She worked hard and took care of her mother. However, the mother wanted a companion, so she remarried. The stepfather was a hunter. He always bullied his stepdaughter. One day, the girl walked past a trap set by her stepfather. Inside the trap, a deer was caught. The deer pleaded, "Please set me free from this trap." She felt pity for it and released it. The stepfather heard them and became furious. He beat her and drove her out of the house. She felt upset and went into the forest. She sat down and cried bitterly. Meanwhile, many animals gathered around her and danced. When she looked closer, she saw the deer she had set free. The deer walked closer to her and said, "Why are you crying?" She explained, "My father beat me, so I am crying." The deer comforted her, saying, "Don't cry," and gently wiped away her tears. Soon, the deer turned into a handsome boy. She asked him, "Why did you become a deer?" He explained, "There is an old lady in our country. She is jealous of us. My father is a king. I am the heir to the throne. She wanted to be queen, but we did not allow her. She was angry and cursed us. However, my father is the king. He is powerful and glorious, so the curse did not affect him. It affected me. The curse can only be broken by the tear of a beautiful girl. If not, I will have to live as a deer until my last breath. My father told me about this curse." He continued, "You are a very beautiful girl. I was able to turn back into a man because I touched your tears. I am really thankful to you." He took the girl to the palace and made her his queen. They ruled the country peacefully. Transcription (Lu Awng) Myit san seng ai num kasha a lam tsun na re. Moi kahtawng langai mi hta da gai da yan nu nga ai da, kasha gaw grai myit su ai da.
