Description:Legend on Maawo the snake-man. Maawo was killed by the clan members of his wife who had been deceived to marry him. His body was cut in pieces, and his mother used the rotten juices from the corpse for cooking. One day she found that her grandchildren stole the juices for cooking. She got angry, and fanned and fanned the juices, and they became sea water and started to fill everywhere. She aasked Maawo to spare a little island for their grandchildren, and that's how Bougainville Island was originated.. Language as given:
