Description:A legend told by Elijah Parung. Hoiko (same as Hoiyo, a village chief, as in MO01-028 and 038) went fishing and saw a shadow on the side of the river and attempted to touch the shadow. He rested to drink water and drowned. The chief was found by the villagers and they attempted to carry him but couldn't. Paanaangah suggested that they use the wood of paruparu tree to carry him. Similar to MO01-038, story ends with how the names were given to the rivers in Mako and Pipiru.. Language as given:
