Description: | A legend told by Elijah Parung. Hoiko was brought a bride from Nagovisi but she was reluctant and refused to stay with him. Paanaangah suggested that Hoiko go to Nagovisi to collect mosquitoes in a bamboo and let them out near her. Hoiko brought the mosquitoes as suggested, and they began to bite her. She was forced to run into Hoiko’s house and remained married to him. To this day you will find mosquitoes in that part of the bamboo plants.. Language as given: | |
