| Description: | Speaker(s): Rachel Meiyinbara|Contents: Rachel saying a few bird names that I forgot to record for app earlier: manimunak, wilitpilit and wirtpirtjorlok. Then at 1,53 she starts to read the first of three books about bird that were produced in the bilingual program at Warruwi School and are available through the Living Archive of Aboriginal Languages website. She reads the book Karlurri pata kawani kapal (birds that live on the land, in open areas). In notes I have noted that RM seemed unfamiliar with word kuyi in the karrak entry and that the verb -ngartpanpu came up and was interestingly first described as 'he might bite our heads' and only later as 'we might have a headache'. Book follows: birds of the bush (karrape), not sure exactly where it starts in recording. Last book starts at 36,11: Karlurri pata tuka kurruka 'seabirds'.| Recorded by: Ruth Singer| Location: Melbourne (St. Leonard's college, Brighton). Language as given: | |
